HI, im back!

we actually mananged to survive 3 days 2 nights out at pulau hantu, amazing only.
just the week before this on wednesday, the J1s were seperated into food, accommodation, transport and logistics.
I feel so proud of the team, all of us managed to work together, given less than 1 week, to buy the food, get a boat to the island and back, make sure everyone's accounted for.
I was in accomm team, so there wasnt much to do cept' for getting the tents from OAC and grouping the people.
We left from pasir panjang jetty, with all the barang barang. All of us were pleasantly surprised whn we reached the island! We thought it's gna be some forested area and we have to boil sea water to drink and bathe just like survivor. turned out, the place was pretty well taken care of and a proper toilet with clean water (drinkable? im not v sure) to boot. kinda like east coast park.
later that day, we waded across the lagoon to the other side in one long line. we sat in a circle, played 'shoot shag marry' which has become our favourite game now.
it struck me how much more bonded we are not compared to the first few weeks we got to know one another.

I remember, during our very first competition, the boys and girls were very much seperated. There seemed to be an imaginary line drawn between us and even the seniors wondered what was wrong with us.
3 months later, here we were laughing, talking, teasing one another, like a team. it's just the beginning and there's gna be obstacles, conflicts whatnot ahead but we're gna pull through yes?
torture training during the afternoon on tuesday and wednesday yet we completed it, together.
on tuesday night, johnathan got bitten by presumably a centipede, but there were fang-like marks! all of us were so worried for him because he couldnt move or talk properly after that and he vomitted twice. The police coast guard brought him back and he had to be warded.
night activities were cut short and all of us had to wear shoes for the night.
I've never treasured electricity so much before this man. There were'nt any lamp posts around which explains why after 7pm, everything else is in darkness and you have to use torchlights to find your way around.
On wednesday, we sorta had this field trip thingum. The tide at the lagoon was almost non-existant so we could walk from one end to the other. Some of the boys caught little crabs and the girls were picking up seashells and whatnot. Dan Dan and weihui were busy flipping the starfish!

Trina taught us how to set up a fire! First you scrunch up the coconut pung into a ball and light it up, then you gta collect twigs and branches and arrange them into 3 different sizes. And you keep on adding the twigs in a crisscross manner to trap the oxygen. Takes alot of patience to get the fire going okay!
We boiled the water with our fire, and then used it to cook the "ham" that the guys found at the beach.
That night, the year 1s shared with each other about camp, and there's just so much more to we can achieve as team aye? Super reluctant to leave the beach but my eyes were closing real fast.
All of us got bitten by stinking sandflies during the night! I have 20 sandfly bites just on my left leg urgh annoying only.
Anw, I really enjoyed the camp! Am looking forward to penang trip at the end of the year woohoo.
bye!
